This blog is dedicated to FM who has inspired me in more ways than she realizes!

Throughout my years of training and teaching  I have noticed one wonderful phenomenon:                       as you get stronger physically you also get stronger mentally. Once stronger mentally you will be more willing and able to take risks physically. So I don’t really care where you start but start you must!!

“I messed up again, I may as well stop trying…” – Hello … Thomas Edison failed how many times making the light bulb?!? Einstein flunked out of school!  Oprah Winfrey was born in poverty! Marilyn Monroe was told to become a secretary; she would never make it as a model! Lucille Ball was told she couldn’t act and to give up!                                                     I don’t think they threw their hands in the air and said “I may as well stop trying…”

NO – they all found something deep inside of them that kept them going! Most of all they found something that made them unique and not one of the crowd! That is true strength right there. To be who you are and let your spirit build the rest!

“To be who you are no matter what. To pick up where you left off without regrets, even after failure. To learn from your mistakes. To resist the brownie, cheese cake, pair of shoes (well maybe not the shoes…). To lift that stupid weight one more time because your trainer said you can! To become the most amazing, strongest YOU you can be!!”

And…since all of this ranting really is about getting you motivated to achieve your next Body Goal lets get started:

Homework 1:

Sit down tonight write down 5 things you can’t stand about yourself and your physical appearance on a piece of paper. Then…(drum roll) crumple the paper up and throw it away!!! That is not who you really are so throw it in the trash!!

Next take out another piece of paper and write down 5 things you adore about yourelf and your appearance – HA much harder than you thought -right?! It is much easier to self loathe than to cheer…. Hang onto this one!!

Then in really larger letters write down why you are unique and why you will achieve what you set your mind to (take a day or two for this is your mission statement for September)

Ok – now for the realistic part – write down ONE thing you can change this month (September 2016) to help you get closer to your Body Goal – e.g. Skip the ice cream, skip the alcohol, walk 10.000 extra steps a day, add an extra group class a week …(you get the point)

Pick out your reward: If you consistently achieve your change decision (you are allowed three strikes) your reward will be _______________ (I love shoes, but it could be a hand bag or lipstick or other fun item like a massage but no food or libation….) (if you strike out your 30 days start all over – remember Einstein!)

So remember:
